Musikate Mini-Musicians - A New Class for 4 – 7 year olds

It is our fundamental belief that everyone is musical!

Our Mini-Musicians course is a specially designed course for children who are in Reception, Yr1 or Yr2. We believe that formal lessons at this age can easily stunt musical growth. Learning to read music, can often become a chore and it can be quite difficult to combine learning to play an instrument and reading musical notation at such a young age.

In our sessions we follow the 'Music Mind Games' curriculum which is a system of fun games and activities to enable children to understand how music works. The course is a perfect foundation for studying any instrument and singing. It is also a perfect compliment for those who have already started learning an instrument. Alongside the games we also introduce the children to the piano in an informal way. Children are encouraged to further explore the piano/keyboard at home and show what they have discovered to the rest of the class.

You will be amazed at how quickly your child begins to recognise musical terms and symbols.
Parents or carers are welcome to join in with the sessions and we encourage you to try to do this a few times a term so that you can help with activities at home.

The classes will be run in blocks of 10 termly sessions at a cost of £10 per session. A pack of course materials and games will also need to be purchased, price will be dependent on what is needed for the term. Classes consist of approximately 6 children.
